I would like to begin by thanking the entire Duncraig Primary School community for such a wonderful start to Term 2, despite all the uncertainties that surround us at the moment.
The best laid plans can go awry, but we managed to cope extraordinarily well with the few little hiccups we encountered at the staggered pick up times. Parents/carers you have done an amazing job with the social distancing rule of not coming onto the school grounds! Thank you!
The teachers and education assistants have welcomed their students back to school with open arms and were so excited to see them back in the classroom. The students were also very excited to be back.
I would like to also acknowledge the outstanding work that all staff have put in to ensure our learning from home/online was a success. Their dedication to detail and hard work has ensured your children are receiving the education they deserve. Below are some photos of some of our Kindy students learning from home.
The cleaners in our school Wendy, Alison and Ghan also play an important role in our school. They also are doing an amazing job looking after our school during these unusual times. During the school holidays the Department of education allocated extra funding to schools so that we could ensure a high level of cleaning which included disinfecting high use areas during the day and playground equipment three times a day. Alan has joined our cleaning staff to assist with this extra work load and is doing a fabulous job.
Just a reminder to our families that Friday 29 May is a school development day.
Students do not attend school on this day.
Have a great fortnight everyone! I can’t wait to be able to speak to you all in person.
Kind regards
Lyn Dawson – Principal
