Event Details

We’re excited to announce that this year’s Science Expo will be held on Wednesday, 24th September, from 9:30am to 3:00pm. The theme for 2025 is “Decoding the Universe”—a fascinating and wide-reaching topic that invites exploration across science, nature, and technology.

Students have already begun brainstorming some fantastic ideas, including:

  • Fingerprint analysis (with comparisons to animal prints)
  • Tessellating patterns in nature
  • DNA and genetic coding
  • Weather systems and prediction
  • Animal tracking and decoding prints
  • Fibonacci sequences in flowers
  • Binary code and digital language
  • Star maps and constellations

Of course, these are just a starting point—the possibilities are endless!

As in previous years, our audience will be the broader school community, so we’re encouraging projects that are hands-on, interactive, and engaging for students of all ages.

To support students in developing their entries, I’ll be running lunchtime workshops every Monday and Friday. These sessions are a great opportunity for students to work on their projects, ask questions, and access resources. All school equipment—including the photocopier, stationery, and materials in the science room—will be available for use.

Students may work individually or in groups of up to three, and will need to complete an entry sheet to document their project.

Looking forward to seeing the creativity and curiosity come to life!
