Assembly

Last week we had our first whole school assembly of the year. It was fabulous to have parents and relatives re-join us at assemblies. I would like to introduce our wonderful Year 6 IT technicians, the Jaxon and Jackson team who help us throughout all assemblies.

Congratulations to all of our merit certificate winners.

The recipients of the French merit certificates were Carys (Year 4 Rm 6) and Keira (Year 3 Rm 12)

School Review

I have been working closely with staff and the school board since Term 3 last year to prepare for our school review.

This process has been a collaborative and methodical self-reflection and review of the six domain areas of leadership, teaching quality, learning environment, use of resources, successful students and relationships and partnerships. Documents and evidence have been prepared and will be sent to the department by the end of this week. Personnel from the department are visiting the school on Thursday 25 March. At the end of the day they will with meet with me to share their findings. As soon as I have the full report I will pass this onto the school community.

Swimming Carnivals

Our school faction swimming carnival is being held next Tuesday at Claremont swimming pool. I look forward to seeing as many parents/.carers there as possible. If you are able to help Mr O out on the day please let me know by Friday. After our swimming carnival Mr O will put together a team to compete at the interschool swimming carnival which is being held on Tuesday 30 March.

Upcoming Events

Our Fathering Project Duncraig Dad’s group is holding a “Splashtastic” event on Saturday 20 March. The flyer below was sent home with your child yesterday. Click on the link to book your tickets and have some fun!!

School Colour Fun Run

This amazing event is being held on April 1. What a wonderful way to end the term. Huge thanks to      Nic Denny who is driving this fundraising event for the P&C.!! The School Fun Run is a sponsorship based fundraiser and the students will participate in the event on the school oval. Leading up to the Fun Run day our students will ask people in the community to support them for participating. Students will be able to fundraise both through online donations, however cash donations. For raising a minimum of $10 they will be eligible for a prize and the more they raise, the better the prize they’ll receive. Flyers for this have gone home and the students are very excited because the class who raises the most money gets to throw water and slime at Ms Dawson, Ms Clegg and Mrs Stewart!!!  The link below will take you the school colour fun run webpage.
