Assembly Super Stars
Room 17 were our Assembly leaders this week, and what a fabulous job they did! They spoke so confidently, danced like rock stars, and told us all about the seasons of the year. On top of that, their artwork was AMAZING. Congratulations, Room 17!
This week we recognised our Students of the Month who have been demonstrating the Value of Excellence, and our Merit Certificate recipients who are wowing us by being their best at Duncraig Primary School.
Numero Challenge
Every Thursday before school a group of students gather, with Mrs Watkinson, to play and practise Numero. On Monday 30th October, ten students represented Duncraig Primary School in the Numero Challenge against students from other schools. They played very well, taking on some winner moves, and ranked well in the overall competition. Well done to all students!
Kindy’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic
The students from Kindy A, B and C had their Teddy Bears’ Picnics last week. There were Teddy Bear games, language and craft activities, and of course, a lovely picnic enjoyed by stduents, teachers, parents and Grandparents.
Kindy Bee Incursion
Our Kindy students have been having such a busy couple of weeks! This week they were involved in a Bee Incursion, where they found out lots of important information about bees.
The children of Bindi Bindi representing the different jobs of the worker bees; the forager bee, the guard bee, the builder bee, the baby feeding bee, the nurse bee, the temperature control bee using her wings to cool the hive, and the cleaner bee.
Mrs Borbas on Leave
During Weeks 5 and 6, I will be taking some of my Long Service Leave. In my absence, Ms Michelle Moyes will be Acting Principal. Please address and enquiries to her during this time.
PBS Focus – We contribute to our community.
During weeks 4 & 5, our behaviour expectation that we are focussing on is, “We contribute to our community”.
‘Community’ could be:
- Our school community where we help others in our school.
- Our local community where we could volunteer, be a team member or help a charity.
- Our global community where we think about others around the world and build our empathy.
Students will be involved in contributing to our community this term when we kick off the Food Bank Christmas Appeal.
