Newsletter Term 3 Week 2 Monday 29 July 2019

Please note Playgroup is on Tuesday and the Kindergarten 2020 transition group is on Wednesday.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Term 3. This term will be a busy one with a variety of events such as the Faction Athletics, Cross Country, Scitech incursion, One Big Voice and much more. To keep you up to date here is a copy of the term planner.

Staffing changes

We welcome Mrs Lyn Dawson as the new Principal commencing in Week 3. Lyn leaves her role as Principal at  East Hamersley PS where she has been for several years. I will be in the acting Principal position until the commencement of this new appointment and Jenny Cole has stepped into the acting Deputy Principal position.
We also say goodbye to Mathew Zanatta whilst he has won a teaching position in Milan. Miss Alice Beedie will be teaching Room 5 during his absence in 2019. In addition, Mrs Jenny Wylde will be taking long service leave for the remainder of 2019 and we welcome Mr Regan Merchant to Room 6.

Kindy Enrolments

Kindy applications for 2020 are now closed. Eligible students must be turning four years of age between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020. All parents will be notified of their enrollment status in the coming weeks.

Kindergarten Transition Program

This week we commence the 3 year old program occurring on Tuesdays.  This will support children and families in their transition to the Duncraig PS community. This program is now in its third year of implementation, something we are very proud of.

Playgroup

We are excited to start the Duncraig PS Playgroup this Wednesday, open to children aged 0-4.  This will provide an exciting opportunity for families and their children to build strong partnerships within the community.

Creed

In the last newsletter the process the school followed regarding the inclusion of the school creed was outlined.  Thank you to those community members who offered their feedback about this as requested by the School Board.

The School Creed will be recited for the first time at the next school assembly on Thursday 1 August.

Kind regards
Leah Clegg
